Florida Helmet Law

1.        operators under 21 years of age must be helmeted and wear protective eyewear.

2.        operators 21 or older are not required to wear a helmet but must wear protective eyewear. (In other words, motorcycle operators, no matter the age, must always wear protective eyewear.)

3.        passengers are bound by the same helmet requirements, but need not wear eye glasses, no matter the age.

4.        persons choosing to ride ‘helmet less’ must have an insurance policy providing at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries incurred as a result of a crash while operating or riding on a motorcycle.
