The Cost - Transport, lodging etc. Cost is probably the biggest thing that keeps people from going in the first place. This does not have to be an extremely costly vacation. There are ways that you can make this happen if you really want to go and you DO really want to go! Once you go to Daytona Bike week, you will be counting the days until the next one!
If you have a pick-up truck you should really go this route. Transporting your bike can be a big expense. Just load up that bad boy, hit MapQuest for directions and you are on your way. Check it out here: Directions To Daytona Beach This is pre-populated, so you just have to add your own address. If you want to fly and have your bike transported there are plenty of places that will do that for you. Click here for a few transport companies. Another biggie is the accommodations. Daytona Beach is a year round tourist area. This means that there are tons and tons of places to stay. One great way to save on accommodations is to share a place with friends. Many of the condos in this area are pretty spacious. You have to figure that for the most part you are all going to be out doing things. There wont be much hanging around inside, so is a great money saver. If you can get a place on So. Atlantic or No. Atlantic, that is perfect. This will get you pretty close to Main St. If you are around Addams Mark Resort, then you are close to Main St. Addams Mark is at 100 No. Atlantic so you can use that to judge where your place is in relation to Main St. Here is one link to check out local hotels, motels, condos, etc.: Hotels search There are a ton of places to search on the web. Important: be sure to ask about security before you book a place! You want to make sure that you can catch a few zzz's here and there and not have to worry about your bike. Also, if you trailer down you want to make sure that you have a place for your truck and your trailer. Many places don't have enough room for trailers. There are places around that you can park but you will pay anywhere from $10 - $25 per day. These prices go up as the week goes on so plan accordingly. The earlier you get there, the less you will pay per day at most places. Ask about bike washes too. Your bike will get alot of salt if you are near the beach area or even if you go for a ride along the seacoast. Make sure to pack your own towels and bike rags. Some places supply them but most don't. Rides and things to see New Smyrna Harley Shop and Gilly's Pub 44 about 17 miles from Main St. . There are lots of vendors, so there is plenty to do.
